Chocolate for Hamster?

Fat Hamster is adorable but then again OBESITY bring forth a lot of HEALTH PROBLEMS! The hamster seems to be feeding on chocolate chip cookies which is a NO NO for hamster.

Firstly, the food (sticky) may get stuck in the hamster's pouch and causes swelling.

Secondly, it is NOT OKAY for hamster to have chocolate. Chocolate contains Theobromine. For humans, it is safe as our body can digest the substance and dispose them. However, animals are unable to break down Theobromine effectively. Hence, the chemical will remain and perhaps accumulate in the body causing them to get theobromine poisoning. It is the same reason why dogs can't have chocolates. Even if you have been feeding your hamsters chocolate and they are still alive and  kicking, this does not mean that your animal friend is immune to Theobromine posioning. It may be a slow posioning and dying process. As much as you love to share your favourite food with your furry pals, please only give them what they can eat and refrain from feeding them human snacks ("junk food").

Q: Can i feed my hamster chocolate?
A: NO!
